Resetting and Recasting a Live Vote

In the event you accidentally start a vote early, this article will show you how to completely reset and restart the votes for a question.

Resetting Votes

  1. If you need to restart a vote for a question completely, you will also need to clear the existing votes received.
  2. Head over to the Questions tab and click on View Votes.
  3. Check off the votes you want to clear; you can filter by voting question or select all. Then click on Reset Answers.

Restarting the Voting Period

  1. Once you have reset and cleared the votes from the questions, you can go back to the Questions tab. 
  2. The question(s) will still be copied from the advanced vote section. To restart the vote, click on the green  Start button and select the length of time you want the question to be open.
  3. If more than one question is voted on in a voting period, repeat this step for each question in the voting period.
  4. Once you have started the voting, the voting portal will refresh automatically for voters.


FAQ

1. When I reset the votes, will I be able to see the votes from the first run?

No - once you reset a vote, it cannot be retrieved.
