How attendees join the meeting

This article outlines how to help attendees who have joined on a computer (GetQuorum's integrated voting portal on their web browser), or a phone or tablet (Zoom app).

Attendees joining with a computer

  • These attendees will join using a web browser (we recommend Google Chrome) on their computer
  • These attendees will see the meeting audio and visual stream as well as all buttons and their voting portal in one place
  • The voting screen automatically pops up when a voting matter becomes available
  • They can press their vote tab in the top right corner of their portal anytime they wish to review an advance vote or cast a live vote 


Tips and tricks for attendees on a computer on the integrated portal

  1. Accept all audio prompts
    • You must accept several prompts from your browser to allow access to your computer audio

  2. Open in Zoom if audio issues persist
    • If you're unable to resolve audio or visual stream issues click "Open in Zoom" to open the meeting in your Zoom desktop client 

    • Once you have the stream open in your Zoom app, you will need to minimize Zoom and get back to your web browser where you have the integrated voting portal. Press "leave meeting" on the web browser to avoid any feedback issues or simply "disconnect computer audio" from the options that appear.

Attendees joining with a tablet or phone

  • These attendees will join using the Zoom app 
  • In order to vote these attendees need to accomplish 2 main tasks:
    • Minimize their Zoom app 
    • Navigate back to their email
  • As hosts, it's important to know that everyone who joined the meeting using a tablet or phone will have already opened their voting portal before clicking to join the meeting. However, many attendees might not be sure what tab has their voting portal on their web browser or they may have closed it.
  • Attendees can easily find their voting portal by navigating back to their email and clicking on the blue Go to my meeting portal button again

Tips and Tricks for attendees navigating between a Zoom app and their voting tab

  1. Minimize Zoom
    • If you're on a tablet or phone this is done the way you normally minimize or switch apps
    • If you are on a desktop computer you can minimize zoom by pressing escape on your keyboard or the minimize button on the top right of the screen
  2. Navigate back to your email 
    • Click on the blue Go to my meeting portal button to ensure the voting portal opens again
