Editing and updating names on the live ballot
In the event that a candidate needs to be added or removed from the ballot, t his article explains how to edit the live voting questions and ensure the overview tab is updated.

When do you need to update the ballot?
- Changes in candidate line ups
- A candidate who was listed on the advance vote withdraws or is nominated from the floor.
- Note: if the meeting has both an owner occupied and general positions, the candidate(s) may be on both ballots
- A candidate who was listed on the advance vote withdraws or is nominated from the floor.
- Owner occupied and general elections
- For meetings with an owner occupied position and general positions, you will need to remove the winner of the first election from the subsequent election.
- For example: If Spiderman wins the first voting period, which is the owner occupied position, you need to remove him from general election ballot so people don't waste their live vote on someone who has already been elected.
Adding or Removing Candidates
- Head to the Questions Tab of the Meeting Card
- Make sure you havethe live-vote questions copied from the advanced vote
- Click on the applicable election question
- To Add a Name (New Nomination): hit enter after the last name and add the new candidate(s)
- To Remove a Name (withdrawal or previous winner): remove the candidate(s) name from the ballot by deleting the row
- Hit "Update" when done with the changes
- Go back to the question to confirm the changes to the ballot are correct
- Head over the Overview tab and scroll down to "Voting Results"
- Find the candidate name in the election that has not yet happened
- Press the green "Eligible" button by their name
- You will then see the a red "Ineligible" Indicator by their name
- You have now successfully removed the candidate from the live ballot and ensured any ranked votes from proxies have been transferred over to remaining candidates!

1. If I am advised that there a new candidate or notified of a candidate withdrawal, can the advanced vote (proxy) be updated?
Yes: please reach out to our support team (support@getquorum.com) as soon as possible so that we can update the ballot for future proxy submissions.
2. How do I remove the advanced votes for a candidate who was removed from the live-vote ballot?
Next to each candidate's name, you will see an eligible button. Click on this to toggle the status to 'ineligible'. You will notice that the candidate will be moved to the bottom of the list with their votes no longer displayed.
